statement

With 10 years design experience, including direct mail, corporate signage and display graphics, Craig has used his strengths in typography, colour and production methodology to develop his weaknesses and excel on the BA Digital Arts course. He has excellent research and project management skills that provide a solid core for his creative expression. Craig’s philosophy is to study hard and to push new and existing skills to achieve his ambitious concepts. This has lead to a passion for web design, video production, special effects, multimedia authoring and 3d modelling and animation.

“Water courses according to the nature of the surface over which it flows. A designer considers the destination then blends talent, creativity and skill to sculpt the surface accordingly; habitually breaking new ground.”
Craig Clarke 2003.

His work ranges from deeply conceptualized to spontaneously humourous. In his seminal animation, ‘SwanCreature’ we experience a darkly compelling journey of discovery and self-belief through apparent oblivion. In “Proper Mesh” he offers himself as a humorous, interactive virtual punch bag. Wherever suitable, Craig welcomes the chance to break free of the screen and create engaging digital installations from myriad materials.
